Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
